Yo, yo, yo.
So, for those of you that were NOT present at my amazing 18th birthday celebration extravaganza here is a brief re-cap. It is my sincere hope that you can really feel as though you were part of the celebration after reading this re-cap.
On Wednesday, 3 March at 7:20 AM I turned 18 years old! I became a legal adult. The first hours of my 18th year I spent essentially dead to the world in a state known as sleep. When I finally dragged my officially legal butt out of bed, I did normal day-to-day stuff. I bathed, ate, checked email, was annoying, got a million FB notifications as people came out of the woodwork to say happy birthday to me... Oh yeah. I was living large and partying hard. Okay, so now that I sound ungrateful, let me just say this was actually the way I wanted it. I told people no gifts, that we'd go out for supper or something but that it didn't need to be a huge deal.
The most exciting thing of my day (That I knew about/planned for, just saying.) was that I wore a TIARA all day! It was a beautiful, silvery, sparkly, surprisingly heavy, and slightly scalp pinchingly pretty-ful. It was so much fun to wear, even if it did elicit a few odd looks throughout the day.
Around 4 o'clock Emma, Mike, Grace, Ugali, and I all went out for a lovely little frolic/walk. Isabelle stayed at home because she was still feeling poorly and wanted to finish my card (Aww! <3). Walking in the wind, slight rain, and cold wearing a tiara with a majority of my siblings was, I must admit, quite enjoyable. At one point though, my tiara got knocked loose/off (Oh noes!!!) and then I had to take it off and let Grace wear it since I was not carrying a mirror with which to properly adjust my snazzy tiara. Then, when we were almost home, Mike had a go of it too. I swear, he pulled it off better than anyone. ;P
So Jake had to go run some errands pertaining to scouting with mom, and I was just doing all the kind of stuff like I mentioned above. Yeah. Up there. ^^^ When mum and Jake finally walked home, mom hollered "Mariah, go to another level!" Due to the hurry-the-heck-up tone my mother was using I used my brain very swiftly and raced into the bathroom on the main level and closed the door & turned on the fan so I couldn't even HEAR anything going on out there. Next thing I'm being hollered for and I come out of the bathroom, almost giving momma a heart-attack. (This may or may not be an exaggeration, but you never can know for sure.) So then I'm being told to close my eyes and I'm being dragged by momma. I'm pretty nervous cause I have no idea where I'm being taken nor do I trust mom not to lead me into a wall or something equally horrible. Just sayin'. Thankfully, I was only lead into the living room. At this point I was squealing (It IS my specialty, people!) and when I was finally permitted the chance to open my eyes...
AHHHH!!! I screamed. Because my amazing bigger-than-me-but-still-younger-of-course brother had bought me FLOWERS! They were amazing, beautiful, perfect, SUPER thoughtful ones too. There were some roses, sunflowers, tissue-papery-feeling purple ones, magenta-y daisies, yellow, daisies, and leaves, and... I think that's all. Doesn't that sound AMAZING?! Well it totally was. I know you agree.Anyways.
Mike had a den meeting that went during dinner time, kinda. I mean, assuming your dinner time is from 6:30-7:30 PM. So we had an early-ish dinner. At Chick-Fil-A. We ate. And talked some. Had a gay ol' time. Then Dad took Jake & Mike to the den meeting and all the Sweeney girls headed home. Where we started that partying hard! Actually we indulged in watching White Collar (Oh yeah. That program on USA with hottie Matt Bomer playing a thief of intense skill. So amazing.) which ended JUST as the boys pulled up. Wicked timing, eh?
When they got home I got to have my cards! They were all so beautiful and thoughtful. Emma made one that had these really pretty drawings of a puppy and flowers, and it had colorful doodles, and memories all over. Isabelle's card was a collage with music notes, colors, patterns, and birds. One was a dove eating ice cream that was practically me, and another was a scissor tail humming bird being pretty. Grace's card was covered in a bunch of paper fashions. They were all colorful, carefully made, and very well coordinated. Mike's card was a very intricate picture of he and I at a concert. There were lights, speakers, microphones, and even that platform thing up near the ceiling of a concert area they set up to put the lights on. Oh yeah. Amazing, eh? I tell ya, if you've never had the privilege of a card from those guys you're seriously missing out.
Oh!
Surprise time! I got some pressies. :) I got a tote bag (I LOVE BAGS, especially if they have lotsa colors. :D), a faboo mix of amazing colored G2 gel pens, 2 brooches (To wear in my hair! YAY! :D), 2 Rick Roridan books, Uncle John's Bathroom Reader Plunges Into MUSIC, and (!!!) the girls and Mike gave me Lady Antebellum's new CD "Need You Now" AND Josh Turner's new CD "Haywire"! I've listened to both multiple times at this point and LOVE them. Then I was told to close my eyes again and next thing I know this huge cold chocolate cake was in my lap. OMG! It said "Happy Birthday Mariah" on it and had a huge "1" candle and a huge "8" candle too! It was amazing and such a shock! According to what Momma said, it was a fancy pants custom ice cream cake from Coldstone Creamery. It was brownie, peanut butter ice cream, and chocolate ganash! Ahhhh! It was SUPER good. Especially considering it was eaten off of paper plates. With the faces of Jacob & Edward (Twilight movies, baby! :P) printed on them. Woohoo! And I got to wipe my mouth on Bella's FACE! It was super amazing.
And that's not all folks!
I went upstairs to put on my pajamas and a large portion of my family was kinda hanging out in my room and being generally... odd. I didn't get why and was just kinda odded out. I was hoping that whatever it was they were going to do would happen swiftly and be painless. As Emma grew more frustrated in my lack of observation skills, she (apparently, I mean I learned all this after the fact) grabbed a pillow off my bed, and then waved it in my face and said I needed to prevent my pillows from falling onto her bed. She promptly threw it up to the top bunk and as my eyes followed the fell upon the sight of....
Ahhhhhhhh! Ahahahahahahah! *hysterical laughter*
Two giant Twilight New Moon posters. One showcased Jacob Black and the La Push gang... The other had the entire Cullen family and Bella on it. I was partly mortified, but mostly dying laughing. It was pretty hilarious, and another ginormous shock.
Now that this is no longer a brief little doo-hickey stating the awesomeness that was my 18th birthday anyone who read all the way to the end gets a cookie! (A virtual one of course, though. I do not have the money to pay postage for sending y'all cookies. But, yeah. My birfday was AMAZING and I had a great time and laughed SO much. I also learned that I have an extremely high pitched voice and when I shriek it goes even higher and pretty much causes hearing loss.
True story.

Oh my goodness!!!! Happy Birthday hon! I'm glad your day was so totally awesome! That was awesomely sweet of your family!
